Youth theatre for Newcastle families
Youth theatre for Newcastle families
Looking for youth theatre in Newcastle that is welcoming, skill-building, and easy to get to? What Theatre Company (WTCo) runs weekly classes for ages 3–18 at our Holmesville studio — about a 20-minute drive from Newcastle CBD and handy for families across the Hunter.
Why Newcastle families choose WTCo
We are a community youth theatre company focused on confidence, creativity, and performance craft — not a pushy competition studio. Classes mix acting, voice, movement, and ensemble work so kids grow skills and friendships at the same time.
Parents often tell us the drive from Newcastle is worth it for the vibe: supportive coaches, clear progress, and end-of-term showcases that feel like real theatre.
Classes by age
We offer age-banded programs so every student works at the right level:
• Mini / early years (around ages 3–5) — play, story, and gentle stage skills
• Primary years — foundations in acting, voice, and teamwork
• Tweens & teens — deeper scene work, character, and performance readiness
See current offerings and times on our classes page.
Where we rehearse (and how far from Newcastle)
Studio address: Holmesville, NSW (Lake Macquarie). From Newcastle CBD it is typically around 20 minutes by car via the Newcastle Inner City Bypass / Pacific Highway corridor — check your usual route for traffic.
